We always wanted to include a mild in our standard range of beers, but were extremely cautious over calling it Brampton Mild. Anyone from the locality will have heard rumours and heresay about the original and legendary Brampton Mild, so we thought the safest option would be to ‘retire’ the name as a mark of respect to the original. However Chesterfield CAMRA then intervened, and asked us to re-launch Brampton Mild as our Festival Special for the Chesterfield BF in February, 2008, and we’ve never looked back. It was the talk of the festival, scooped more votes than any other beer over the weekend and took the Mild of the Festival award. We now tend to rotate between brewing Impy and Mild, so it’s doubtful we’ll have them both on at once, but equally doubtful we’ll never have a mild available.
